Executive Director of Strategic Operations (Project Management)
Position Overview
The Director of Strategic Operations is a senior-level position responsible for supporting the CEO in driving critical business initiatives, executing strategic priorities, and ensuring operational excellence across the organization. This highly visible role combines strategic insight, financial acumen, and executive-level communication capabilities with a hands-on approach to execution. The ideal candidate will bring a background in FP&A or corporate finance, experience in M&A support, and the ability to manage and prioritize a wide range of cross-functional initiatives on behalf of the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a strategic thought partner to the CEO, providing analytical support and operational oversight across key initiatives.Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities, including financial modeling, due diligence coordination, and integration planning.Lead the preparation of executive-level reports, presentations, and strategic materials for internal and external stakeholders (e.g., board meetings, investor updates, company-wide communications).Manage and optimize the CEOs schedule, including preparation for meetings, briefing materials, and follow-up on action items.Monitor progress on company-wide strategic initiatives, identifying risks, roadblocks, and opportunities for acceleration.Collaborate cross-functionally with senior leaders to gather insights, synthesize findings, and ensure alignment across departments.Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, actionable insights for executive decision-making.Develop and maintain operational dashboards and performance tracking mechanisms.Represent the CEO in internal and external forums or working groups as needed, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Maintain the highest levels of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality in all matters.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.710 years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate strategy, investment banking, consulting, or a related operational role.Demonstrated experience working closely with executive leadership, ideally in a high-growth or dynamic corporate environment.Strong knowledge of financial modeling, reporting, and data analysis.Experience supporting or managing M&A transactions is highly desirable.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to craft compelling PowerPoint presentations for executive audiences.Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a proactive mindset and the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.High level of integrity, discretion, and sound judgment in handling sensitive and confidential information.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and related business tools.
