Position Summary: The Edibles and Food Production Lead is the primary person in the production of high-quality cannabis-infused edibles and will be responsible for implementing and maintaining processes related to the manufacturing and processing of final dosage forms of therapeutic cannabis-based foods. Will be responsible for the consistent, sanitary and safe production of infused edible products utilizing company policies to successfully uphold quality and consistency of all products produced in compliance with State of Ohio medical marijuana laws and legislation and GMP guidelines. Essential Job Functions: ü Oversee production of all edibles in accordance with SOP's and GMP's ü Establish proper dosing for batches; correct and troubleshoot as necessary ü Understand how to properly use and maintain all kitchen equipment; oversee cleaning, sanitation, and organization of food production areas ü Responsible for leading R&D of all brands ü Work with the MIP Manager to develop and maintain a monthly production schedule; review weekly and update as necessary ü Responsible for maintaining & ordering all non-cannabis inventory ü Audit SOP's and GMP's, batch records, logs, and other associated documents regularly ü Assist with the creation of batch production records and maintain a detailed log of procedures and results ü Work with internal testing lab to submit samples for internal and external testing ü Examine product samples during production to evaluate quality, color, and texture ü Maintain proper levels on all non-cannabis inventory to ensure production schedule is met ü Ensure compliance with labeling and METRC transactions ü Works with the product development team to develop new products, recipes, and processes to achieve a successful product launch ü Assists marketing/sales teams to create accurate marketing materials for new products ü Perform necessary equipment maintenance and safety checks in accordance with manufacturer specifications ü Other duties as assigned by your supervisor ü Must be able to lift 50lbs on a consistent basis
Qualifications: Required: ü Must be at least 21 years of age ü Must have a high school diploma, or the equivalent ü Minimum 2 years' experience in cannabis extraction or food/edibles production ü Must be able to pass all background check and licensing requirements as set forth by the state for working in the medical cannabis industry ü Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation ü Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Preferred: ü Associate degree in Culinary Arts or Food Science ü FSPCA Prevention Controls for Human Food certification ü Serv-Safe certification
