SUMMARY: The goal of the Music Director is to follow the Holy Spirit as they create an atmosphere that invokes worship. The Musical Director is the bandleader, arranger, recruiter, and trainer. The Musical Director leads every area of the music ministry and developments the worship department through vocal training and selection of worship music and leaders. The Musical Director is responsible for building a ministry that attracts musicians and singers and produces passionate followers of Jesus Christ through the medium of music and the creative arts. This position requires collaboration with the senior pastor to ensure the Worship department is in sync with the teaching and vision of CRCC. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned by the Worship Pastor or his designee. Coordinate Worship for all services where music is needed. Conduct weekly choir rehearsal. Develop priorities and assign tasks to the choir. Organize lay leadership in ministry. Learn and understand traditional and emerging worship styles that are conducive for the culture of CRCC. Cultivate an environment that helps to guide people in a corporate time of praise and worship. Identify, recruit, and train gifted individuals. Assist with Kids on the Rock (KOR) Childrens choir. Oversee youths (SHIFT) Worship Department. Timely and effectively communicate to band members. Arrange songs, write charts, program, and direct music in live worship settings. Create and manage the weekly schedule of the CRCC band and worship team. Recruit and vet Worship Leaders for the rotation of CRCC worship leaders. Manage the weekly schedule/rotation for CRCC worship leaders. Develop and achieve long-term goals such as organizing a CRCC community choir. Conduct weekly voice/music trainings in addition to service rehearsals. Serve as a member of the creative team to plan, develop, and execute weekly production. Assist in the care and discipleship of the CRCC worship community. Collaborate with Communications/Technical Team to enhance worship experiences across all services and environments. Assist in the accountability of Choir Members/band discipleship. Plan and direct the music for special CRCC services and events such as Christmas, New Years Eve, Easter, FFN, weddings, funerals, etc. NON-ESSENTIAL DUTIES: As assigned by Ministry Director or designee. Multi-generational exposure to songs of the church - past, present, and future. Ability to embrace and adhere to Mission and Core Values of CRCC. Demonstrated sound organizational, coordinating, and personal interface skills. Proven job reliability, diligence, and dedication. Must be flexible with working nights, weekends, special events and holidays. Must work on-site within the CRCC office.
