Inventory Control Assistant (Administrative)
BASIC FUNCTION
Compiles records concerned with ordering, receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping materials, supplies, and equipment by performing the following duties while ensuring that inventory shrinkage is kept to an absolute minimum.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Compile BOL paperwork after the unloading of steel related trucks and rail cars from steel service centers and mills.
• Maintain a CSX Rail account to schedule delivery and pickup of rail cars to minimize demurrage charges of $150/day.
• Pick up any New Purchase Orders from Purchasing each morning.
• Gather plant pull tickets received from the plant (machine shop, saw, and punch areas) and material requisitions from purchasing. Maintain copies of material req's for material tracking.
• Ensure any material pulled from inventory has a pull ticket filled out completely.
• Fill material requisitions as material is pulled to maintain inventory count integrity. Prior to the month-end make sure all items are charged out (filled) in Sage.
• Receiving and associated documentation (BOL, Packing Slips, LTL docs) for raw material must be matched with the Purchase Orders and turned into Purchasing for scanning daily.
• Perform Cycle Counts and report monthly cycle counts of inventory information prior to EOM, reconcile count sheet discrepancies, and turn into purchasing for monthly inventory valuation reports.
• Compile stock control records and rotate inventory as necessary for material turns.
• Control costs; (ensure that inventory movement is not delayed, destroyed, lost, or counted incorrectly).
• Conduct daily inventory analysis to solve inventory problems from cycle counts and plant pull tickets.
• Perform daily physical cycle counts to maintain inventory accuracy.
• Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventory.
• Ensure that drops from the burn table and saw are calculated and reported for accurate inventory tracking.
• Ensure any drop has the PO, Heat, and sizes clearly marked for proper material chain of custody.
o Follow ISO procedures to document and take pictures of any material deemed unfit to use for fabrication and turn into purchasing for follow up and replacement.
• Report any problems that arise with material being mismarked, miscut, short, etc. to plant management and to purchasing.
• Track all dates for tank loading and plant receiving with the plant and EPS Schedules.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING
A. Requires a high school diploma with a focus on business/computer curriculum. Minimum of 1 year inventory control experience and/or training, a plus.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to author routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Basic Math; Ability to read a tape measure. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
COMPUTER SKILLS
To perform this job successful, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software, spreadsheet software, outlook, and work processing software.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to comprehend engineering and construction aspects of Prestressed Concrete Tanks.
