The Cranial and Spinal Technologies (CST) operating unit of Medtronic is redefining cranial and spinal procedures to reduce variability and improve outcomes, with the goal of restoring long-term quality of life for the more than 4 million patients we serve annually. The Principal Communications Specialist will be responsible for researching, writing, designing, and producing multimedia content that advances our reputation as the worldwide leader in spine and cranial surgery. This high-impact, dynamic, and collaborative role will lead content strategy and craft compelling narratives to drive business initiatives, spark brand advocacy, and grow engagement with both internal and external audiences.
The ideal candidate for this role must have exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills, be well-versed in content management and editorial calendar planning, and have a deep understanding of how content should be optimized across different internal and external communication channels including traditional and digital media. We are looking for a communicator with a positive attitude and a passion for storytelling. A successful candidate for this role will be highly motivated, detail-oriented, and willing to learn and connect the dots in a fast-paced environment. Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$108,000.00 - $162,000.00
This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).
The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance , Health Savings Account , Healthcare Flexible Spending Account , Life insurance, Long-term disability leave , Dependent daycare spending account , Tuition assistance/reimbursement , and Simple Steps (global well-being program).
