Electronics Lead Engineer (Engineering)
What you will do:
The Electronics Lead Engineer is responsible for the electronic design and development of energy management system components for low voltage battery and ultra capacitor systems used in multiple applications. This position is a senior engineer responsible for both electronics design and leading development team members for battery management and future electronics products.
How you will do it:
Lead end-to-end hardware development of battery management systems (BMS), ensuring designs exceed technical, safety, and cost requirements while aligning with software, manufacturing, and system integration needs.
Define hardware requirements and strategies for current/future BMS, incorporating DFMEAs, functional safety standards, and manufacturability/testability considerations.
Oversee validation processes, including hardware analysis plans, test result approvals, and design reviews to guarantee compliance with production launch timelines.
Drive cross-functional collaboration with software, manufacturing, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware into battery systems.
Champion design for manufacturability (DFM) by optimizing electronics production processes and ensuring product scalability and testability.
Act as technical authority for internal/external stakeholders, resolving critical design issues and communicating technical decisions to OEMs and customers.
What we look for:
Required:
BSEE, MSEE desired
10+ years of professional engineering experience in related field
OE Automotive/Tier 1 Powertrain electronics experience is required
Technical / project leadership experience required
Preferred:
Experience with schematic capture, for example Altium, is required
Experience with electronic circuit debug, test, and simulation tools are required
Experience with Li-Ion battery management is highly desired
Experience in requirement management tools, for example Doors or Jama is desired
