Senior Accountant (Project Management)
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing bid costs to actual production costs.
Assist in developing estimates of new and proposed product costs.
Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies regarding cost analysis and profitability.
Reconcile finished goods inventories ongoing.
Support and assist internal department reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others.
Reconciliation of weekly temp labor invoices.
Review and process weekly WEX accounts payable run.
Quarterly updates of commercial cost workbooks.
Posting of weekly payroll files.
Provide updated cost workbooks/BOM to plant accountants at contract issuance.
Prepares monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
Maintain the general ledger.
Code invoices, set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books.
Reconciles bank accounts, verify deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks on occasion.
Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.
Back-up to A/P Clerk to complete payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
Files tax forms with state, and local government agencies.
Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and ROSS accounting software or similar ERP system.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, or related field, required.
At least three years of related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
Climb stairs.
