Driver (Construction)
Review tank inventories (in some cases gather tank inventory information) to determine order of petroleum deliveries.
Travel to appropriate terminal and load product according to safety regulations.
Transport product to appropriate store locations.
Stick tanks to monitor inventory and guard against water contamination, before and after every drop.
Safely unload/load, connect/disconnect hoses and make delivery drop of appropriate product into appropriate tanks.
Effectively communicate with store personnel and Transportation staff to ensure product needs are met and proper paperwork/documentation is gathered.
Ensure approved work attire is worn and transport vehicle is cleaned regularly, as instructed.
Immediately report any maintenance/safety issues, regarding equipment and/or any job functions, to appropriate Transportation staff, and follow through with repair processes.
Maintain current required certifications/licenses, i.e. physicals, CDL license, Hazmat training.
Know, understand and adhere to all federal, state, and local laws/regulations that apply to all aspects of the Transportation Drivers duties.
Attend required meetings.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Must be at least 21 years of age, have a minimum of two (2) years verifiable tractor/trailer driving/petroleum hauling experience and have had no more than two (2) moving violations and no serious preventable accidents within the last 36 months. Applicants who have had a conviction for Driving Under the Influence, or a revocation or a suspension resulting from an accident or poor driving record are not considered for employment regardless of when the conviction or suspension occurred. Additionally, verbal and written verification of employment is required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Mathematical skills required as relates to job, including the ability to calculate inventory levels, load/compartment levels and split load deliveries.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to apply knowledge and experience quickly if/when job functions demand quick, safe and decisive decisions. Acute understanding of responsibility involved with hauling hazardous material in a fully loaded tractor/trailer weighing over 42 tons.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A Motor Vehicle Report listing the previous ten (10) years is required from all states where the applicant has held a drivers license. Proof of a current Commercial Drivers License and certified HAZMAT training. Must have a current medical card or pass a Department of Transportation medical examination, performed by a company-selected doctor. Must also be certified drug and alcohol free and submit to drug/alcohol testing as required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions for this job. The hours of work range from 10 to 12-hour days, six days per week, averaging between 60 to 72 hours per week. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to think clearly and make quick/safe judgments given the serious nature of hauling hazardous material (see Reasoning Abilities).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to wet, cold and/or hot/humid conditions. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and hazardous material (petroleum products). The employee is regularly exposed to conditions consistent with driving a transport vehicle on public roads. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts; in high, precarious places; and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals, and the risk of fire, explosion and electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
