This role involves taking products from concept through to final production, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained with the rest of the department. The ideal candidate will have experience in refrigeration and HVAC systems, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
Essential Functions:
3D/2D Drawings: Update and create conceptual drawings with SolidWorks for new cooling units. Collaborate with the team to identify components and determine the exterior dimensions of the units. Detail the mounting and placement of all components.
ECN Documentation: Manage and create Engineering Change Notice (ECN) documents to capture and communicate necessary changes to systems, components, or processes. Ensure all ECN documents are clear, detailed, and stored for traceability.
Design and Testing: Update drawings during the testing and evaluation to account for identified variables. Devise, fabricate, and assemble new or modified components for testing and manufacturing of refrigeration products.
Production Support: Assist production with quality or manufacturing issues and develop procedures to reduce quality issues or decrease production time.
Customer Support: Assist customer service with technical issues and create documentation to support new and existing products.
Quality Control: Create, interpret, and monitor quality standards. Provide training and support to relevant departments on QC procedures.
Lean Initiatives: Actively participate in lean initiatives to ensure principles are applied within the R&D function.
Work Context:
Requires standing, sitting, walking, manipulating or feeling controls, bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, stooping, and repetitive movement.
Exposure to distracting or uncomfortable noise levels, contaminants, and hazardous equipment.
Working solo or as part of a team, indoors in environmentally controlled and non-controlled conditions.
May require wearing protective or safety equipment.
Requires moving, lifting, or fitting components weighing up to 50 pounds. For weights exceeding 50 pounds, use an additional person or appropriate equipment.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 0-3 years of related experience; or 5-10 years as an Engineer in a related field; or equivalent training and experience. Master's degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on HVAC/Refrigeration or Heat Transfer is a plus.

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
Knowledge:
Thorough understanding of heat load calculations and heat transfer principles
In-depth knowledge of materials, products, and production processes relevant to HVAC equipment design and fabrication
Strong mechanical aptitude and refrigeration knowledge
Proficient in quality measurement and testing methods
