TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer II to join the Support Team for the Infinity product, our flagship Toll Collection System, in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
Job Summary: This position will provide system administration services & support for Infinity tolling installations throughout the state of Pennsylvania (normal business and off hours). While this position will be dedicated to projects within Pennsylvania, limited support for other projects may be required as time permits.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Design, implementation, and maintenance of virtualized solutions using Microsoft Windows Failover Cluster with Hyper-V; create Virtual Machines (VM).
Experience using Dell/EMC Storage would be beneficial.
Properly size and procure all the infrastructure components. This includes determining requirements for RAM, CPU processors and throughput speed, disk space storage for servers and SANS, networking components, communication bandwidth, operating systems, virtual machine software, etc.
Installs, configures, and maintains equipment at customer data center and plaza facilities.
Manage, document, schedule, and install monthly Windows security patching, Zero-day vulnerability patches, network equipment security patches, and firmware updates.
Provides day-to-day technical support, troubleshooting and complex problem resolution for the infrastructure equipment.
Assist with implementing the network topology as well as the infrastructure components required to support the Infinity application using best practice designs. This includes virtual servers, Windows Server operating systems, network communication bandwidth required, networking topology (e.g., Cisco Switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, etc.),
Monitoring systems for performance, reliability, and security.
Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed, nights, weekend, and respond in a timely fashion to evening emails and phone calls.
Daily review of system logs, antivirus server logs, etc.
Management of licensing and updates for software, operating systems, networking equipment.
Monitoring of daily backups to ensure proper operations of automated backup system.
Research and make recommendations on new or replacement network products, services, software, etc.
Provides system engineering and administrator training and support.
Desired Skills:
Minimum of five years sizing, installing, configuring and supporting servers (HP & Dell), Windows Server operating systems, Cisco and Palo Alto networking components (e.g., switches, routers, and firewalls), virtual machines (Hyper-V).
Familiarity with System Administration for Windows Server 2016 through current Windows Server version.
Administration and configuration of Cisco switches and Palo Alto firewalls, in the network to ensure IT Security standards are met.
Working with Dell PowerEdge Servers & Dell Power Vault Storage would be beneficial.
Administration and configuration of Microsoft systems such as Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, WSUS, etc.
Microsoft Active Directory & Group Policies, DNS, DHCP, FTP, etc.
Veeam Backup software administration, scheduling and troubleshooting.
Microsoft Hyper-V Sever support and maintenance.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
Highly motivated and self-starter.
Scripted automation (PowerShell).
Creation of Firewall access rules.
Experience with Microsoft software packages including MS Teams.
Basic Linux experience a plus.
Smartsheet experience a plus.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited educational institution or equivalent combination of education and experience is required
