Desktop Engineer (Finance)

Job Summary
The Desktop Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, support and maintenance of TriWest's desktop infrastructure. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to define desktop standards, develop deployment strategies, and ensure the reliability and security of desktop systems. The Desktop Engineer also provides technical support for escalated desktop issues and contributes to the continuous improvement of desktop services. Functions as the primary contact for all tier levels in the Service Desk.
Education & Experience
Required:
• 3+ years of experience in desktop engineering or related roles
• Strong knowledge and experience in supporting user interactions with Information Technologies (IT) (Systems, Network, Desktop, printers and other end point devices)
• Significant background supporting Microsoft Office 365, Windows 10 environments, and related security patching processes
• Working knowledge of desktop imaging and deployment tools (e.g., SCCM, inTune)
• Experience with mobile device management solutions and virtual desktop integrations
• Knowledge of security standards and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS)
• Familiarity with IT asset management and license control processes
• Understanding of certificates and certificate management
• Significant experience supporting DaaS based Virtual Desktop environments
• Familiarity with Active Directory management, GPOs and MFA technologies
Preferred:
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting DaaS Virtual Desktop environments
• Experience with virtualized desktop environments
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified Professional, MCSE
• Experience with IT service management standards (e.g., ITIL)
• Advanced knowledge of enterprise collaboration platforms (e.g., Teams, WebEx, Zoom)
• Familiarity with network printing, Wi-Fi troubleshooting, and VPN solutions
• Experience with problem and incident management process and tools including Root Cause Analysis
Key Responsibilities
• Contribute to the design and implementation of desktop infrastructure projects.
• Contribute to the definition and enforcement of desktop standards, policies, and procedures.
• Provide technical expertise and support for escalated desktop issues.
• Collaborate with vendors for hardware and software maintenance and upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
• Manage desktop imaging and deployment processes, including quality control using tools including SCCM.
• Support end-users with mobile device management and cellular services.
• Participate in change management efforts to prevent recurring issues.
• Contribute to the development of written project plans and system design documents.
• Interface with departments on reported issues and needs.
• Take active steps to resolve customer issues and needs.
• Ensure that supported device configurations comply with required security standards.
• Assist in change management efforts to proactively prevent issues from re-occurrence.
• Provide technical expertise in working towards effective software recommendations and upgrade solutions.
• Participate in the development of written project plans, task schedules, test and evaluation plans, and system design documents related to the desktop environment.
• Serve as application administrator for TriWest and third party applications (ticketing systems, secure file transfer, VDI platform, etc.).
• Serve as liaison to vendors for all server systems for maintenance, problem resolution and upgrades of installed hardware and systems, application and data communications software.
• Support TriWest's end point devices such as mobile devices, printers, desktops, AV systems, telephony hardware and RAP's.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required.
