Maintenance Technician II (Maintenance)
Job Overview:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for conducting general maintenance and repairs on facility equipment and property structures. Essentially, the goal of a maintenance technician is to maintain the facilities and common areas in the best possible condition. Maintenance technicians can work in a variety of settings including plant, warehouse, and office areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel, and adhere to all safety policies and procedures Use appropriate PPE for work operations.
- Willingness to work overtime.
- Understanding of automation equipment (i.e. sensors, switches, valves)
- Managing inventory related to automated area
- Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work
- Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety regulations
- Conduct maintenance of electrical systems
- Help maintain facility budgets ensuring competitive pricing and purchasing quality products.
- Maintain air and plumbing systems to ensure functionality within the plant and automation area.
- Inspect alarm systems and fire protection and quickly schedule repairs when needed
- Ability to work independently
- Coordinate with outside contractors as needed to complete certain repairs
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma and 3 – 5 years of work-related experience
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- Demonstrate experience as a maintenance technician
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts and small hand tools
- Cleaning and maintaining common shop areas
- Communicate repair issues to affected employees
- Disposing of trash and machine shavings from plant area
- Excellent manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
