POSITION OVERVIEW: Primary function is to cover job functions in the plant that formerly were included under QC. The job tasks included in the Utility position will include the ability to operate the weigh scales, provide assistance to quality control, shipping, and inventory management.
Shift Details: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm
Principal Responsibilities:
Quality Control, knowledge and skills (Level 2 or higher framer or equivalent prior pole experience.)
Defect identification per ANSI standards.
Ability to class an unframed pole.
Pole species identification.
Ability to sort material to meet customer specifications.
Clear understanding of pole identification practices (butt and top markings, tags, and branding).
Possess a solid understanding of Work Order documentation requirements.
Able to read and interpret framing prints and select the equipment required for processing.
Safe and effective operation of all framing equipment.
Able to make straight cuts with a chainsaw, within ΒΌ" deviation from square per 12" pole diameter.
Capable shaver hand tool routine maintenance.
When working at framing performance and productivity must be equivalent to a level 2 framer.
Make tags accurately.
Perform banding and strapping of rail cars and poles to specification (AAR).
Rework poles to specification on cut back skids.
Weigh Scales, knowledge and skills.
Run Weigh Scales independently.
Proficient with the Weigh Scale Software.
Shipping and export documentation.
Notify production supervisor or shipper when orders ship.
Assist in QC treating inspection.
Informs truck drivers of yard safety rules.
Shipping and Inventory, knowledge and skills
Demonstrate an understanding of shipping /receiving.
Understand and provide shipping documentation as required
Participates and contributes to company safety program.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
Ability to perform written and housekeeping environmental stewardship expectations within department.
