Sr Director- Development Communications (Finance)

Provides leadership in the design and implementation of communications strategy in support of University of Houston Advancement & Alumni programs and services. Coordinates the production and execution of all print and digital communications directed to the alumni audience.
1. Serves as liaison between Advancement & Alumni and Senior Leadership within the Division of Advancement in managing the overall strategy for communications.
2. Provides research, writing and editorial support for all alumni communication projects as needed; provides general technical knowledge and experience in writing, editing and communication.
3. Coordinates work with a broad group of writers and graphic designers.
4. Develops and implements project management procedures and systems.
5. Produces Annual Report, Alumni magazine publication, newsletter and other marketing documents, etc.
6. Works closely with other advancement communications departments and integrates efforts, where possible.
7. Fosters and enhances relationships with stakeholders to increase awareness of the A&A vision, mission, goals and community impact.
8. Researches and produces webinars targeted to UH audience.
9. Researches and writes stories that feature UH alumni for external communications. 10. Employs communications outreach via various digital platforms.
11. Builds and maintains relationships with university representatives to ensure consistent and accurate communications.
12. Uses partnerships to create and implement innovative communication strategies. 13. Manages and updates all electronic content for A&A website.
14. Manages social media platforms and communications on behalf of A&A.
15. Performs other job-related duties as required.
MQ: Education: Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed.
Experience: Requires a minimum of five (5) years of directly job-related experience.
