The Ontario, CA office has an immediate opening for an Senior Soils Technician.
This position within Kleinfelder involves the collection of geotechnical data and soils testing from sites in various stages of development and/or design and is primarily a field position to start.
Under direct supervision, this person will be responsible for completing well-defined, assigned field and office tasks including:
- Collection of soil samples,
- Compaction testing
- Concrete sampling
- Subsurface exploration
- Assisting geotechnical project managers with various field and office tasks
- Daily report writing
- Drilling permit acquisition
- Learning geotechnical field testing procedures
- Progressing sites towards regulatory closure,
- Learning and honing the fundamentals of Data Collection;
- Observation and documentation in support of scientific investigations and engineered solutions.
Requires working within the context of local, state, federal regulations, client requirements, and as a part of a project team under the direction of a project manager with other staff professionals.
Experience:
- 10 experience. The ideal candidate must be motivated, have a strong, technical or educational background in geology, soils or engineering, the ability to provide technical support on projects, have strong communication and good writing skills.
- Must be able to work outdoors for extended periods of time, occasional travel out of area including the entire Bay Area, other Counties and occasionally out of state.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-lbs
- Candidate should have own vehicle for transportation (preferably a truck)

The expected salary range for the position is displayed in accordance with the California Pay Scale Disclosure Law. Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary range: $28.94-$48.30p/h
