Major Duties :• Contributes to an open culture that enables employee development through direct but kind feedback, promotes diverse perspectives and fosters a sense of curiosity and optimism
• Advocates for design perspective and engagement model to create differentiated experiences
• Establishes relationships built on communication and collaboration between business and technology peers, creating an effective flow of design and product information.
• Leads and supports the design team by elevating team members' natural abilities and proving growth opportunities, ensuring that barriers are removed for teams to deliver their best work
• Reports relevant design accomplishments to senior leadership and key business stakeholders on regular basis
• Manages the pipelines of work and relevant resources to support their area of focus
• Ensures that resources are allocated responsibly, staffing to meet demand within budget
• Ensures smooth transitions within and between design teams as programs progress through various phases
• Identifies and solves technical and operational problems; understand and recognize broader impact across their team
• Guided by policies and departmental plan, impacts the team's ability to achieve service, quality, and timeliness of objectives
Knowledge :• Ability to put Human-Centered Design and UI/UX best practices to work within a professional setting
• Expertise in a range of relevant design methods and concepts, which may include low-fidelity sketching, information architecture, wireframe development, usability testing, research planning, competitive analysis
• Ability to recognize, predict and incorporate use cases and user interactions into design
• Expertise in a range of relevant design methods and concepts, which may include low-fidelity sketching, information architecture, wireframe development, usability testing, research planning, competitive analysis
• Exceptional presentation, facilitation, and storytelling skills, leading teams to a common vision.
• Applies understanding of the business and design practice, integrates with others to achieve departmental objectives
• Guides and influences others either internally or externally to achieve objectives
Experience :• 10+ years demonstrated work experience delivering digital experiences, 3+ years leading others
• Design thinking and UI/UX best practices, as demonstrated in a portfolio or presentation of work
• Experience leading small to medium design teams and incorporating human-centered design into product definition and delivery
• Experience collaborating with stakeholders to align on the definition of success
• Experience working with a cross-functional teams in a large-scale software development lifecycle, preferably in an agile environment
• Educated in design or related field, formally or though comparable training
