Who you are: You have a passion for growing trees and plants and like working outdoors. You have basic knowledge and experience in horticulture or plant care and are familiar with working in a nursery environment. With a mechanical aptitude, you will work effectively with nursery equipment, irrigation systems, and building maintenance. Self-motivation, flexibility, and physical strength are key attributes. Additionally, your effective communication, professional conduct, and proficiency in basic software tools will contribute to a successful role within our organization. What the job is: As a Nursery Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting production and maintaining the nursery facility by providing biological, mechanical, or administrative duties that support seedling production, maintenance and/or repair of the nursery facility and reforestation crops. Assignments will include seedling mowing and raking, seedling measurements, establishment, and measurement of nursery trials, weed control in and around greenhouses, machinery operation, field trial establishment and data collection, and routine preventative repairs and maintenance in and around the nursery, greenhouses, and orchards.
Work schedule: We emphasize the importance of punctuality and regular attendance for all employees. The work week is Monday - Friday, 8 hours a day. Compensation: The Nursery Technician 1 has a progression for career growth. At this level, the wage range is $23.00 to $29.61 per hour depending on your experience.
