Purchasing Director (Project Management)



Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise purchasing and transportation activities across the company.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers, shipping companies, and cargo insurance providers.
  • Liaise with branches on product quotes, product searches, and knowledge.
  • Monitor vendor and shipper claims, and assist in product liability litigation.
  • Ensure compliance with the Lacey Act and FSC certification requirements.
  • Develop and manage supplier performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the product database and maintain product category structure.
  • Keep senior management informed of industry news and market conditions.
  • Bachelor's degree in management, business administration, or a related field preferred, but not required.

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably at least three years in a leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of the building materials industry.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.

  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
